Family Shoot (of the extended variety)

I returned home for a few days and was lucky enough to be there at the same time as my cousin and his beautiful family.  Here are some shots of the extended family.

Lentil As Anything

I recently hosted  a couple of Austrian couchsurfers.  It was great exploring Melbourne again through the eyes of a tourist.  Turns out, the highlight for them was Lentil As Anything.  They had never experienced anything like it, and I must admit, it is one of my favourite places.

You help yourself to delicious food.

Chat with the familiar staff and patrons.

Leave a message on the wall (or browse those already there).

And then simply leave your money in the box.

Perfect.

This is what Sunday's should look like (a prominent theme of my blog)

I often spend my weekends wandering in the city, watching the people go by.

watching the couples walk in sync.
and the guys using all sorts of pick up lines.

(which seemed to work).
I guess I'm a 'people watcher'

 who enjoys free entertainment.

How do you spend your Sunday's?
P.S. I shall be blogging a lot more now I have finished studying and I have a new Melbourne photography project about to begin!!!!

Imogen Jane Booth (3 weeks old)

One of my best friends recently gave birth to her second child, Imogen Jane Booth.  As a gift to the beautiful parents, I did a little shoot for them.  Here are some of the shots.  This experience made me realise how critical I am of my own work when it is for someone else.

Seth is one proud and adorable big brother, so of course he is a key feature in the photos too!

(I was shooting with my Canon 450D, 50mm f 1.8, with my new speedlite- 430 EX II.  First shoot with the speedlite, still have a lot to learn)

Vintage Flea Markets

I'm sure those standing still are taking in a lot more than those rushing by.

Familiar skylines.

While wandering around today, I decided to "browse" in some camera stores.  *note to self: when "browsing" DO NOT talk to the salesmen, they will inform you of sales and you will walk away with less money.  But, I'm pretty stoked- I can add a new lens and a speedlite to my collection.  Expect more shots soon!

How was your Sunday?

Escape

Misty rain, sun peeping through the clouds.  Made for some really interesting tones.

Deep in the beauty of nature.
Just minutes away from this beauty- one of Australia's biggest power plants.  Ironic.

The day ended with a vibrant sunset and a long drive home.

Accolades @ Revellers (The Laundry)

I drank Revel's juice, from the selection of Rev's potions @ Revellers with Josh Revell.  True Story.

Here's some shots of the amazing Accolades.  I'll be honest, I'm not overly stoked with these shots, but I am stoked with this band.  Check them out here:
